Randy A. Ramlo is president and chief executive officer of UFG Insurance, also serving on the board of
directors. He has been a member of UFG since 1984, beginning his career as a commercial underwriter.
He served as commercial underwriting manager from 1996 to 2001, as vice president of fidelity and
surety from 2001 to 2004, as executive vice president from 2004 to 2007 and as chief operating officer
from 2006 to 2007. In May 2007, he was appointed president and chief executive officer of UFG.
Ramlo holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and has obtained the following
professional designations: Associate in Management (AIM), Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding
(AFSB), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
He is a long-time community leader and supporter, with service to many diverse organizations. He serves
as a director of Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, an economic development organization; a
member of the board of trustees of the Cedar Rapids Public Library; a member of the University of
Northern Iowa School of Business Executive Advisory Board; a trustee on the Iowa College Foundation
Board; and a trustee of the Eastern Iowa branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
International.
